During continuous provision the children used the briefcase from the book corner as their suitcase, sunglasses they had brought from home, hats from the role play and told the staff that they were going on holiday.
This led to conversations about holidays the children were going on or had been on.
Staff set up an invitation to learning to support this interest.
IMPACT:
This activity gave staff lots of observation opportunities:
PSED: Making relationships, Self confidence and self awareness
C&L: Listening and attention ( listening to others in small groups) Speaking- there were lots of conversations about where they have been on holiday previously, who they went with, how they got there etc.
UTW: People and communities - remembers and talks about significant events in their own experience, describe special times or family events.
EA&D: Being Imaginative
