"St Mary's Nursery @ Wensley Fold Children's Centre invited Kate Hollern (MP) to their World Book Day Tea Party. Kate enjoyed afternoon tea with the children and staff; then took part in the story session of Little Red Riding Hood.
World book day is an important date in our calendar as it highlights the importance of reading stories/books to children and babies. Staff focus on passing this message onto the parents, they explain how it benefits children's development and instills a love of books. Our hope is that the parents within the community who use the nursery take the advice on board and make reading stories a part of their daily routine, therefore improving the outcomes for the future generations of Blackburn"
