Save the dinosaurs

We brought some ice in from outside and the children broke it up with hammers. 

A discussion took place about where ice comes from. The children filled a washing up bowl full of water (and dinosaurs - their choice) and put it outside overnight to see what would happen. 

The following morning : 'The dinosaurs are stuck in the ice' 

'How can we get the dinosaurs out?'
