Ice cream making

The children were pretending to make and sell ice cream outside.

Nafeesah asked the children if they would like to make some ice creams, they decided to make them in the creative area. Nafeesah's intent was 'Maths shape, space and measure' as this was a next step for some of the children. 

Development matters: Uses positional language. •Shows interest in shape by sustained construction activity or by talking about shapes or arrangements. •Shows interest in shapes in the environment. •Uses shapes appropriately for tasks. •Beginning to talk about the shapes of everyday objects, e.g. ‘round’ and ‘tall’.
