How did Charlie the Elf get into our curiosity cube??

The children we left asking how Charlie had got into the box!!!
Helen and some of pre school had lots of discussions about why he was in the box, Helen suggested a fingerprint test. They used cornflour and sellotape to look for finger prints but we couldn't figure out how he had got in the box!!!
We decided that Charlie is magic

Merry Christmas to all our friends at Springfield Cottage Residential Care Home

Pre School were invited to Springfield Cottage Residential Care Home to join in with Christmas celebrations.
We took some bells with us so we could perform some of our Christmas songs, some of the residents joined in with the singing.
What a lovely time we had, we also got to see Santa who brought us all a special present.

Grand Designs....

Invitation to learning linked to next steps and children's interest

Designing our own bricks....
Staff wanted to observe if the children:
-Shows control in holding and using jugs to pour, hammers, books and mark-making tools.
-Beginning to use three fingers (tripod grip) to hold writing tools
- Imitates drawing simple shapes such as circles and lines.
-May be beginning to show preference for dominant hand.

The children built a 'tower' for the cars to go through. One of the children sang London Bridge is falling down..... when the bridge fell down the children worked together to build it back up again.

Look who has arrived......

Hello Pre School,
Helen has written to me this year to ask if one of my Elves would like to come to Nursery.

I have been watching you all having fun at Nursery and know that some of you have written me a letter.

My Elf is called ‘Charlie’ and is coming to your Nursery to see who is being a good boy / girl.
Charlie will fly back to the North Pole every night to tell me who’s being good.

Please look after Charlie whilst he is at your Nursery, he has told me that he is really looking forward to coming to stay with you all.

Lots of Love
From
Santa

Construction station .....

The children have been showing great interest in construction and small world.
Staff have extended this area of provision to include a construction station (for model making) and an 'ideas board' for children to draw/ write their ideas .
