Following a conversation between two of our children about ice cream we made our own ice cream using shaving foam with food colouring.
Next week staff are going to make an ice cream parlour, they have ordered ice cream cones, shaving foam, sprinkles, cupcake cases, food colouring from asda. We will be using money to buy a variety of ice creams.  Keep an eye out for photographs :)

Do you have any cardboard boxes, yogurt pots, kitchen roll tubes that children can use to create their own models?
Please bring them into Nursery to restock our junk modelling  ....

Democracy

What is Democracy?
Democracy within the early years is all about teaching children that their opinions are important and that each child’s thoughts and feelings should be listened to and valued. Democracy is also about teaching children that sometimes we are given the power to choose and make decisions as individuals and as a group. Turn taking and sharing all come under democracy, much of democracy is promoted through personal, social and emotional development within the EYFS.
We are currently in the process of updating our long term calendar ready for 2017/18.
For our 2016/17 long term calendar Mr Tumble was the focus of our Safety Messages and Healthy Messages.
Mr Tumble would like a rest this year so we need to choose a new character/ theme.

Today we have started to ask the children to pick a new character/ theme:
Peppa pig
Paw Patrol
Nuresry Rhymes
Peter Rabbit

We will let you know what the children decide...

Parents Evening Feedback

In an effort to improve our services Mary’s Nursery feels that feedback from parents/carers is essential.
During parents evening we gave each family two post it notes, 1. Things they like about Nursery  2. What we could improve on

We greatly appreciate your comments. All comments/ feedback can be seen on our 'App' (our school-app)

Pre School - Light Board
